I recently discovered the joys of browsing [livejournal.com profile] fanficrants (no, really, before I was insulted by the vole. :-) A good rant is cathartic. So I present to you the perfect -- nay, Platonic form of all rants:
Clever and Mildly Insulting Subject Line

Don't miss the gems in the comments that follow, either (especially what devolves from [livejournal.com profile] sevendeadlyfun's "Self-aggrandizing statement of support"). The whole thing will make you weep that there are no further worlds to conquer. Or something like that.

Ooh, yeah, that's always interesting. Another community I watch, [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets is the same way--sometimes there's secrets for things I had no idea that people even thought of. Like shipping historical figures (?!?!). (I should warn that fandomsecrets is pretty image heavy and some of the secrets can be NSFW at times, though. ...Or just plain squicky.)

LOL, eyeballs? XD I want to say there's...some sort of all-eyeballs monster from some fandom I was in once, but it must've been a cartoon I watched as a kid or something because I can't remember for the life of me exactly what the monster looked like or where he was from or even what he was called. I want to say 'Gorgon', but that doesn't make any sense at all.

Hmm. The only all-eyeballs figure I can think of is Argus, from Greek mythology (picture here (http://www.theoi.com/Gigante/GiganteArgosPanoptes.html)). Not sure he ever made it into a fandom, though -- Greek mythology is more like a meme cluster. :-)

Well, it wasn't that...I was thinking of, like, a big sphere covered with nothing but eyes. Like an eyeball made of eyeballs or something. ._.;

Hmm. Doesn't ring any bells. If it's an evil eyeball monster, though, no doubt it can be conquered by stabbing it in the vitals with a rolled-up copy of "Anemia's Song" (Shes a lonly girl wanting escape realty what happens when she meets the gang and will she find love? my 1st fic no flames plz!).
