It's just started drizzling now: time to bring in the lawn chairs, shut the windows and batten down the hatches ...

ETA (noon): A gray, damp morning till a little while ago -- rain coming up from the south, so I missed it starting staring out a north-facing window. Wind beginning to pick up, right on schedule ...

ETA (14:00): Steady rain, light winds. The petunias in the window boxes are actually perking up, for some reason ...

ETA (16:00): Intermittent downpours. Wind playing in the tree branches, but not to the extent that anything is tempted to come down. Petunias still perky ...

ETA (18:00): Hard rain and gusty winds, interspersed with periods of relative calm. Petunias hanging in there. Flash flood warnings added to the flood/hazardous weather/tropical storm wind warning mix, but since I live on top of a hill, I sneer at them ...

ETA (20:00): Still raining; wind wrinkling the puddles, but tree branches swaying rather than thrashing. Barometer bottoming out. Can't see the petunias anymore; too dark ...

ETA (22:00): Rain's stopped; sky is clearing, south to north, behind the last of the wind. Stepped outside to check petunias, which appear bizarrely refreshed. That's that, and I'm for my bed ...

Lucky you! (And lucky us -- two stories to read!) Mine's almost completely drafted, but I'm not sure I'll have it finished and polished by deadline. It's got issues and I'm short on time. Woe.
