"So, she was like, 'Well, you can be the panda' -- trying to be the bigger person. But I'm already the panda."

How true ... I think the poet said it best who wrote:

We all want to be the panda;
We all crave a higher standard.
Even though we name it,
They always try to claim it:
We are eating these shoots and leaves
In a den of thieves."

Update: turns out the local high school's mascot is the panda. Dang.

That's still irrelevant to the fundamental existential question of who gets to be the panda. :-)

Except that it's a Catholic high school. What are they doing hijacking fundamental existential questions in the service of sports? You'd think they'd have a more respectful attitude toward the panda.
