Over at dotmoon.net -- a multifandom fanworks archive based primarily around Sailor Moon, AFAICT -- they're holding their annual UFO Awards for fanfiction. It seems that some discerning (or possibly deluded) soul nominated my Princess Tutu 'fics "The Machine Unmakes the Man" and "So a Cat Walks Into a Bar", but since entrants aren't apparently notified until their pieces have been both nominated and seconded, I wasn't aware of it until yesterday. (You can't nominate or second your own works. Dang.) But since every contest deserves to have some entries I really like in it, I'm working on getting some of my favorites from last year into the ranks. Someone else will have to second them, though, so if you liked "From Here On" or "Scars and Consequences" or "Sun Goes Down" or "And After" or Catalyst ... or any of the other things I nominate by the deadline as I sift through all the stuff I read and enjoyed in 2007, please drop by the contest site and second my nominations, or other people's nominations. Or make your own. But there's a catch --
Nominations close today, February 29!
-- so hurry on over before it's too late.

You're welcome; it was definitely worth plugging to the rest of the world. I also nominated some other stuff today, but evidently the maintainers do all of their updates overnight, so [livejournal.com profile] lyricnonsense and [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog won't see their titles up till tomorrow.

Ehh, it's a tough time of year (weather, academic scheduling, flu season, weather ... ) I tend to think inspiration pokes up with the crocuses -- that's my excuse for not writing lately, anyway. (One of 'em.)
