Not going to ask, not going to ask, not going to ask ...

Oh, heck: who, then? (The only inspiration I ever had was Chow Yun-Fat for Hughes.)

Keeping in mind that this is a dream list...

...And I'm not necessarily going by acting skills....

Jonathan Taylor Thomas as Edward

Brie Larson as Winry

Haley Joel Osment as Alphonse

David Duchovny as Maes Hughes

Cynthia Rothrock as Riza Hawkeye

Keanu Reeves as Zolf Kimbley

Those are my "for sures"...though I might be willing to change out Winry to that model in Ireland if she can act. *points at icon*

Everyone must be permitted to dream! :-) Unfortunately, I always find myself taking acting skill into account when I do this stuff (well, except for the time I was teaching in Arkansas and helped my colleagues cast a New Testament epic with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Jesus Christ: "I'll be back!"). Which is why I'd try, oh, Johnny Depp as Kimbley and throw up my hands over casting the youngsters. It's the same problem I have trying to find someone to play Miles Vorkosigan. The only actor who ever came close for me was Nabil Shaban and he's way too old. Sigh.

The only one I'd be concerned about, really, is Keanu, since his acting varies from really good to amazingly sucky, which I think depends more on his interest in what he's filming than anything. *grin*

Arnold as Jesus. Now that's funny.

I wish I could remember who we had pegged as the twelve apostles. Dang. But then we moved on to casting Dante's Divine Comedy with Dustin Hoffman as Virgil and Winona Ryder as Beatrice ...

Hey, this was just a random collection of teachers I met in Arkansas. (It was the same crowd that took the Meyers-Briggs Personality Test, though, and discovered we had all the characters we needed to take over the world, from the ENTJ Führer to the INFJ Soul of the Movement to the INTJ First Against the Wall When the Revolution Comes. Guess who I was ... )
