Personal Note: The Birds

My home is besieged by catbirds. It began yesterday morning, ungodly close to dawn, with one shrieking fit to shatter steel outside my bedroom window. Then the others decided to lay claim to my porch; every ten minutes one or another of them lands, struts around nervously for a bit, then takes off. I can't tell whether they've got a nest in the trees opposite or what; they don't seem to have built anything on the house itself. Yet.

If this is what happens when I write horror, I'm swearing off.

Uh. You'd have to make it up, I'm afraid. Of course, living right down the street from the police station, you shouldn't have a problem with the local fuzz.
