Filk: Paperback Writer (The Beatles)
Jan. 19th, 2007 02:44 pmDear LJ User, will you read my 'fic?
It took me days to write; here's the link to click.
It's based on a manga or an anime
That I really liked, 'cause I want to be a fanfiction writer,
Fanfiction writer.
It's a touching story of a love so true
My beta cried reading it and so will you.
They kiss in the rain and someone almost dies,
But I won't say who -- you can find out on Fanfiction-dot-net,
Fanfiction-dot-net.
I've reached chapter twenty but it's still not done;
I'll be posting more 'cause it's so much fun.
I can make it even better if you R'n'R --
But don't flame me, please: I'm a brand-new fanfiction writer,
Fanfiction writer.
Someday I'll move on and write my own sci-fi.
(They say that CLAMP did it, so then why can't I?)
I'll be a famous author with a huge fan base
Who won't let me forget that I started as a fanfiction writer,
Fanfiction writer.
I doubt I'm the only one who's ever thought of (mis)using "Paperback Writer" thus, but this came to me all in a moment (okay, over the course of an hour) after hearing the song used as transition music in an old episode of Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!. So this is Douglas Berman's fault. (And that's my story and I'm sticking to it.)
