"Don't do this, man," Dizzy said urgently. "You haven't thought through the implications."

"I have thought them through, okay, Diz?" replied Lance. He dodged a pair of hurrying freshmen. Technically, they should have yielded the right of way to an upperclassman, but Lance had never been interested in enforcing such precedence. Besides, his reputation was too damaged to risk even the appearance of bullying. "I'm done."

"No. No. No," Dizzy insisted, turning around to walk backwards in front of his friend. "You cannot just give this up, Lance -- not after all the work you've put in." He stumbled into a recycling bin and spun around to catch it before it could tip over. "That wasn't there yesterday."

"Look, just give it a rest," Lance said wearily. "I don't have time for it anymore."

"Time?" scoffed Dizzy as they came to a stop beside their lockers. "Time is relative, my friend. Einstein says so. There is always time for Warcraft."
Bit of a slog through here -- lots of blocking and extreme amounts of exposition. This scene is going to be much drafty-er than the ones that preceded it. Still, soldiering on ...
