hieronymousb's tale "Threnody", which I picked to win the minute I saw it posted. Its encounter between Winry and Roy Mustang tugged on the heartstrings more adeptly than my rather stiff-upper-lip take on Maria Ross in exile. (Which has been substantially revised since its original appearance -- I wasn't satisfied with it when I posted it back in July, but now it's much better, I think. Anyone with an opinion is welcome to weigh in.)
