Books: Whee! Yes! Finally!
Sep. 22nd, 2009 05:33 amCaught notice this morning of a long-delayed release date, complete with cool countdown widget, by checking out Diane Duane's Twitter:
The climaxes to the last few Young Wizards books have been somewhat talky, but overall I'm still a fan of the series. (I admit to being very interested in what comes of [spoiler]'s quest for [spoiler], after the gracefully narrated falling action of their plotline in Wizards at War, though evidently that isn't the focus of this novel. Still, Duane also reports starting work on YW installment #10 today ... perhaps, perhaps?)
ETA: In other bibliophile news, yesterday I visited the local Giant Book Sale (a remaindered-books chain that usually appears as the larval stage of a Halloween costume shop) and found a slightly dinged version of volume 2 of John Rateliff's edition of J.R.R. Tolkien's Hobbit mss. for six bucks. You can't turn a bargain like that down, so I didn't. Heh.
