Today I have three reasons to rejoice, in descending order of squee:
1. Megan Whalen Turner, A Conspiracy of Kings (Greenwillow, Winter 2010)
2. Diana Wynne Jones, Enchanted Glass (Greenwillow, 2009/2010)
3. Naomi Novik, Tongues of Serpents (Del Rey?, 201-?)
I did hear about those latter two some little while back, but the first just turned up today. My queue runneth over. Now I just have to avoid being run over by a bus any time in the next year and a half ...

Shall I count on you to preorder two copies, then? It'll probably win us free shipping ... ;)

Someone from Greenwillow posted on [livejournal.com profile] sounis to let us know about MWT's new book. I just about had a heartattack. XD

That's where I saw it, too. She can take all the time she wants between books, as long as each one continues to be a gem.

Oh, I agree! I'd rather have her take her time on it and have it be wonderful than feel rushed to get it finished and then have the book suffer for it. Although I admit that every time a new one comes out, I get impatient for the next one. Her books are never long enough for me--I always want more. XD

Hear, hear, on all counts. I really, really, really want to know what's up with Sophos ...

Me, too! He was my favorite character when I read the first book (although Eugenides is a close second, of course). It's been killing me that we've only gotten foreshadowing and vague comments about him since then.

I'm looking forward to watching Turner develop his relationship with Eddis -- that they like each other is tossed in occasionally (at the end of The Thief, IIRC, and in The King of Attolia when Eddis is talking with the magus and mentions that she and Sophos were corresponding), but it would be fun to see them take center stage, with Sophos grown up a bit.
