I hadn't recognized that the zombies were among us again (i.e. in bookstores) until I read this post and realized the truth. As [livejournal.com profile] one_bullet_left explains, the Evil Overlord has not been playing fair:
Perhaps you're not aware of this, but in cultures where it is socially acceptable to unleash hordes of mindless, shambling undead minions on the unsuspecting populace, there are rules governing that sort of thing. For example, it is considered polite to announce your presence by taking up residence in a crumbling castle on a remote cliff and installing a large lightning rod. One might also send one's hunchbacked, lisping servant out and about to the local graveyards, where his digging and rummaging about might alert the townspeople of your intentions. Someone with your prodigious resources might also consider providing the locals with complimentary flamethrowers before your localized apocalypse takes place, just in the spirit of fair play.
I applaud [livejournal.com profile] one_bullet_left's courageous attempt to instill some civility into this apocalypse and look forward to receiving my flamethrower.

For a moment, I tried to figure out a way to subvert the argument in favor of an impending Robot Revolution. Then I realized I couldn't survive the required leaps in logic. Boo! :P

Biases aside, [livejournal.com profile] one_bullet_left wins a boatload of Internetz. (Which is why—though this sort of thing shouldn't surprise me anymore—the fact that such a wonderful post got hit with a "completely-missed-the-point" comment right off the bat still makes me weep a little on the inside. Ugh.)

Thanks for pointing this out!

That trips up many a prospective robot revolutionary. I sympathize.

I wasn't sure whether to call troll or zombie on that one. I've leaned toward the latter as the argument went on and on -- the commenter comes across as genuinely clueless about satire.
