Pointed out by the good folk of rec.arts.sf.written: which SF character am I? Well ...

You are
Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?
A venerated sage with vast power and knowledge,
you gently guide forces around you
while serving as a champion of the light.

Speak backwards now I must? Dear oh, dear oh!

ADDENDUM: The best response to this quiz I've seen so far comes from a poster protesting, "I got Spock. This is not logical."

Yeah, you get to be tall, dark-haired, immortal and wise. I get to be short, warty and speak in a croak. TANJ. (Everyone on rec.arts.sf.written seems to be coming up Jean-Luc Picard for some reason. Hmm.)

Yes I did get the good end of the stick for once though I wouldn't have turned down Jean-Luc

A stern yet benevolent organizer who often knows best, your wits are keenly fixed on aiding efforts you deem worthy.
Now at this last we must take a hard road, a road unforseen. There lies our hope, if hope it be. To walk into peril to Mordor.

I'm sure there's some deep meaning to the fact that COM, ELD, and I all got LotR characters.

Good grief. Are all my online friends cooler than I?

I'd love to pull the algorithm apart and see what makes it tick. I don't really mind being the wizened voice of wisdom, but I'd like to know what I did to deserve the role.

Me neither. Except for the not-liking-kids thing, which isn't me. I like kids. I like introducing them to Japanese cartoons and watching their parents boggle ... heh.

snort. Most of my friends with kids are already into it and my cousins are into it now too (at least the youngest one)

Maybe deep down in your subconscious you really are small and green? ^_~

And if I were movie Elrond, I would totally have had Arwen killed the second she started being so annoyingly useless.

*gasps* You said "TANJ." In public. *shakes finger*

I was not aware that uttering the phrase "TANJ" in public constituted a social solecism. Another argument, perhaps, for being linked to a character who spent his last decade or so living like a hermit.

That wouldn't explain why I dreamed last night that President Eisenhower was trying to induct me into the army. Although my subconscious did have enough access to my conscious to eventually decide it must be an imposter, because Eisenhower had to be dead by now.

And if I were movie Elrond, I would totally have had Arwen killed the second she started being so annoyingly useless.

[grin] At least in the book she is who she is -- one of those idealized ladies/anima figures straight out of the folkstory tradition. Eowyn's way cooler.

HEEEEEEEEE.

To tell you the truth, I really only know the "phrase" because I had a friend who used to say it....
