A/N: Very slightly (as in one word) revised version of a 'fic submitted to fma_fic_contest for the "fish" prompt. (It actually won -- ye gods and little fishes!) Since water is one of the essentials of a Chinese garden and ponds with goldfish a common design element, I had yet another excuse to stud a 'fic with foreign words and idioms.
