I have never read Twilight but after reading the ragging on it, I almost want to for sheer amusement value.

It's not quite as actively and amusingly bad as a concentrated distillation of its badness makes it appear. I found it long, tedious and hokey, with occasional flashes of anti-brilliance (like the SPARKLES!). Stephenie Meyer is no Ed Wood, unfortunately.
